Summer Economics

We are very proud to offer this program to any and all interested! When we think of economics, we think of a boring class we had to get through to graduate high school. Ziggy likes to make learning fun, so we developed this 6-week class over the Summer to help teach kids what they're learning all this stuff in school for ... their economic futures. Illustrated below is how we break it down.

Micro- and Macro-Economics

We use a celebrated online curriculum to guide your student's exploration through the world of Economics at their pace. While there is some competition with other students in the class, students come away with both theoretical and practical knowledge of their economic surroundings.

The Stock Market

Over the six weeks of instruction and activities, each student is given $10,000 in fake money to invest in the stock market however they like. We teach them what to look for in the market like trends and how to research the companies they'd invest in. Whoever has the largest account at the end wins a prize!

Entrepreneurship

We take a lemonade stand to the next level! We give the students an opportunity to come up with an idea to make money with in their community. We teach them how to do it legally, efficiently, and, most importantly, profitably. There are three challenges, each with their prizes and benefits!

Prizes!

Depends on how many students are in the class. For example, if there are only 5 students, we can only award one prize in each category. If there are 20 students in the class, we would be able to award the top 3 in every category. The prizes in each category below represent full enrollment.

All students get the recognition of donating what they earned to the organization of choice.

1st Place: Gold Medal
